1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the Spotlight Chrome extension ("Spotlight", "we", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and discontinue use.

2. Description of Service

Spotlight is an AI-powered email assistant Chrome extension that connects to your Gmail account. It allows you to search, summarize, draft, and manage emails through a conversational chat interface. The service includes a free tier and an optional paid Pro tier.

3. Account and Authentication

• You must sign in with a valid Google account to use Spotlight.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this service.
• By signing in, you authorize Spotlight to access your Gmail data as described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Spotlight for any unlawful purpose or to send spam or unsolicited emails
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or tamper with the extension
• Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Exceed the daily message limits through automated or abusive means
• Resell or redistribute the service without permission

5. Free and Pro Tiers

• Free tier: 10 AI messages per day, resets at midnight UTC.
• Pro tier: 50 AI messages per day for $5/month, billed through Stripe.
• We reserve the right to change pricing or features with reasonable notice.
• Pro subscriptions can be canceled at any time through the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6. AI-Generated Content

• Spotlight uses artificial intelligence to generate responses, summaries, and email drafts.
• AI-generated content may not always be accurate, complete, or appropriate. You are responsible for reviewing all content before sending any emails.
• We are not liable for any consequences resulting from AI-generated content that you choose to send.

7. Email Actions

Spotlight can send emails and create drafts on your behalf, but only when you explicitly click "Send Now" or "Save as Draft." We will never send emails without your direct action. You are solely responsible for the content of emails sent through Spotlight.

8. Data and Privacy

Your use of Spotlight is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using Spotlight, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Spotlight is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI responses will be accurate. Use at your own discretion.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Spotlight and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, emails sent in error, or missed notifications.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Spotlight at any time for violation of these terms or for any reason at our discretion. You may stop using Spotlight at any time by uninstalling the extension.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of Spotlight after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
