Frequently asked questions

Is Spotlight really free?
Yes. The free plan includes 25 AI messages per day, email search, summaries, 3 category labels, and sending and drafting emails. Pro users can create custom categories. No credit card required, no trial period — it's free forever.
Can Spotlight read all my emails?
Spotlight only accesses emails when you ask a question. It uses Gmail's read-only scope to fetch relevant messages on demand. Your emails are never stored on our servers and are only processed in real-time to answer your questions.
Does it work with Outlook or other email providers?
Currently, Spotlight works with Gmail only. Outlook and other providers are on our roadmap. Sign up for updates to be notified when we add new integrations.
What AI model does Spotlight use?
Spotlight uses GPT-4o-mini for fast, accurate responses on the free plan. The upcoming Pro plan will include access to GPT-4o for more complex queries and better drafting quality.
Who built Spotlight?
Spotlight was built by Liam Harvey, a 15-year-old student and developer. What started as a personal project to manage email overload turned into a tool that anyone can use. Every feature is designed with simplicity and privacy in mind.
